What is WardBoard?

For many medical students, the Residency Applicant Spreadsheet has become the hub of relevant VSAS/ERAS information. For all intents and purposes, it has proven to be a powerful, crowdsourced resource.

With that said, we are creating WardBoard because we think a forum should be built for – and dedicated – to the process. Posts and comments should be easy to navigate and read. Notable dates and events should be easily accessible. Direct message functions should be available to ask your peers questions.

The Spreadsheets have admirably filled a void in the residency application process, but it’s time for something better

Please utilize our preliminary resources below as we continue to improve and update this website

A new way to collaborate and discuss experiences while applying to residency.

About WardBoard

Purposely Designed

WardBoard is an integrative platform for residency applicants to discuss and share information about The Match, programs, and personal experiences.

Privacy and anonymity is at the core of WardBoard. Under the veil of your username, you can choose to safely navigate between chat forums and our direct messaging platform without identity compromise. Collaborate and commiserate freely without concern.

Welcome to WardBoard.

Level the Playing Field

Where you live, who you know and what resources you have results in unfair information access and distribution amongst ourselves. Our mission is to dissolve this inequity.

Moreover, as prior applicants, we know how hard it is to collect or even trust the publicly available information. Not all information is created equal. We are centralizing all program-specific information to profiles for you instead.

Welcome to WardBoard.

A Dedicated Forum

Hyper-competitive applicants with a tendency to delete or hack valuable crowdsourced information will no longer be an issue. Hate speech will not be tolerated.

Structure equals function: we believe we should have a platform designed for community building and interaction instead of being forced into building one in a platform designed for data analysis. Why Not have both?

Welcome to WardBoard.

We Deserve Better

Applying to residency is hard (and expensive) – we’ve been there. On one hand, the names, dates, events and even updated URLs are decentralized and near impossible to keep track of.

On the other hand, intangible information that cannot be found online or at websites can’t be sourced without a connection. What is the culture like? Is the training high quality?? Are the residents happy there???

Welcome to WardBoard.
